THINKING OF AMERICA

While Deuteronomy 28 is about the sins of Israel, there certainly is a reminder of what is happening to America. Though we are not a theocracy, there are still parallels that put chills on our backs! The passage reads:    "Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and a glad heart, for the abundance of all things, therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the Lord shall send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in the lack of all things, and He will put an iron yoke on your neck until He has destroyed you."    A judgment is coming upon this nation, and, I do not see any reprieve or repentance taking place. While many of our citizens, mainly Christians, see the light, the vast majority of our people do not! Several times in this chapter it says, "You shall be destroyed." And so with this great land. We shall be destroyed, if not completely, at least by becoming impotent and helpless, and a servant to other nations. This is happening already with the Chinese. We are presently indebted to them. They are our suppliers. The majority of our products come from them, therefore, we are enslaved to that people.    While we should pray and confess our sins, nevertheless, I do not see God turning us around. He is answering, and His answer is "NO, I am going to judge you because you have not been thankful for all of the abundance by which I blessed you!"    As a believer who knows Christ, you should get your house in order. (1) Get rid of your credit card debt, (2) save, (3) down size your material "stuff", (4) do not purchase what you do not need. The world says "spend," but the Lord says "save." We read in Proverbs 30:25: "The ants are not a strong folk, but they prepare their food in the winter. The badgers are not mighty folk, yet they make their houses in the rocks."    Be prepared!
