ONE BIG RELIGIOUS HAPPY FAMILY

Claremont School of Theology in California has arrived with the ultimate course of liberal studies. The school is now melding all religions into one big curriculum for graduate students. Taken as religious truth students can study under Muslims, Hindus and other faiths in order to get their degrees. This represents the ultimate of an eclectic study program. And no one at the school sees a problem since all paths lead to God, so they would argue.

One official said the institution could be "a breeding ground for conflict, but it should be a place where students can develop skills for a multifaith environment, and what better place to do it than with their education at Claremont?" Claremont is a breeding ground but not the kind the school wishes to put forward. In our postmodern world there are no absolutes, so whatever religion you desire, they all are right.

What I find interesting is that in the fields of science, there are absolutes that we can depend on, but in the field of religion, many or all paths lead to God. There are no absolutes! Take your pick. It amazes me that no one sees this as a problem. The blindness of the modern mind is fascinating to me. But few people get it. More than likely Claremont will lead the way for other multifaith schools, and churches, all coming to the community near you.

A CRAZY WORLD!

The news recently reported about a sixteen year old girl who tried to sail around the world alone. She said "her parents were worried but were still behind her and allowed her to try." She added, "It was great my parents let me do this. It's really exciting! They were willing to let me go."

Instead of her parents being parents, they became simply "facilitators," ready to sacrifice her for the independence we think kids should have today. This is madness! Her boat almost sank; it was torn apart by storms, but by a close call, they found her!

People today are afraid to be dogmatic and tell their kids "no!" In fact, these parents were probably even proud about her effort. Girls are girls and they are not men! But even for a teenage son, the idea would certainly be crazy!

Today, people are doing things simply because they can do them. Common sense is tossed to the wind. – Dr. Mal Couch (6-10)

DR. COUCH’S FOOTAGE

At the new Cafe & Store at the Texas School Book and Depository building—the Sixth Floor Museum—Dr. Couch's film footage will be continually running for people to see when they visit. Dr. Couch was filming for WFAA-TV; his footage shows President Kennedy just before he was killed in the motorcade. Drop in and see it if you visit the Kennedy Museum.

CAN’T HELP BUT THINK OF AMERICA

We have an indirect application in Deuteronomy 28:47-48 that makes us think of our dying nation. We read:

"Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and a glad heart, for the abundance of all things, therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the Lord shall send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in the lack of all things, and He will put an iron yoke on your neck until He has destroyed you."

America is sinking fast and we're turning away from the Lord with great rebellion! We should not be surprised. The Word tells us there will be an apostasy of both the church and in the culture. I've taught this for decades and now we see it rapidly coming upon us.

JAMIESON, FAUSSET, and BROWN

Did you know that the famous Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown were premillennialists? There commentary on both the NT and OT shows this. They write on Jeremiah 31:

"The new covenant with Israel and Judah is not with a spiritual Israel but with literal Israel. The promise here is for Israel in the last days is national and universal, and effected by an extraordinary outpouring of the Spirit."

On Ezekiel 38 they write: "The final triumph of Messiah's truth over the most distant and barbarous nations is represented as a literal conflict on a gigantic scale, Israel being the battle field, ending in the complete triumph of Israel's anointed King, the Savior of the world. Ezekiel describes the antichristian confederacy which is to assail the Holy Land before the Millennium, and there is another war with Gog and Magog in Revelation 20 describing the corresponding and last antichristian confederacy which is to assail the believed city at the close of the Millennium."

On the "chief prince" and "Rosh" this is the Scythian Tauri in the Crimea. Ros means Russia, also we have here Moscow and Tobolsk from Meshech and Tubal, referring to the Slavs.

These great men studied the Bible in its literal context and can be trusted to tell us like it is. They followed the outstanding Rabbis and take the Bible in its literal sense. – Dr. Mal Couch (6-10)
