| It may be true that without a judgment falling upon America, there will be no turning around and seeking God. Isaiah the prophet writes: "When the earth experiences Your judgments the inhabitants of the world [then] learn righteousness" (Isa. 26:9). It often takes pain and punishment for humanity to drop sin. The prophet goes on and says: "Though the wicked is shown favor, he does not learn righteousness; he deals unjustly in the land of uprightness, and does not perceive the majesty of the Lord" (v. 10). In my opinion, this nation will not turn back. We are moving ever deeper into the apostasy. In 1980, there were 14 million Americans who claimed no religious affiliations. Now that number is about 34 million! Things are indeed getting worse. And without judgment it will increase even further down the road of disaster! – Dr. Mal Couch (October 2009) |
