The mayor of New York City, Mayor Bloomburg, has said there will be no clergy giving prayers at a memorial at the 9/11 Center in the City. This is the first time that such an action has ever been taken at a public ceremony. The Jewish mayor gave no reason but many think it was because this would offend Muslim clergy. The answer should be "So what of it?"
This shows how liberal the mayor is and how he offends his own Jewish heritage. He is denying the God of Scripture to ignore such an opportunity. But this is the way things are going!
In one sense it doesn't matter because New York is so liberal no one would be listening to any of the prayers by liberal Protestants and liberal Jews. It would only be a ceremony. Our nation has departed so far from the God of Scripture there is no returning it to any normal thinking or actions. The apostasy grows deeper!
