I
see a real problem today among churches, and it has to do with the
teaching of the Word of God! Many younger pastors call me and say, "My
flock no longer understands solid theology or practical truths. What can
I do?" My answer is they must be more adequately equipped. The Word of
God must strike like a hammer!
This is why Scofield Ministries was started. It
is an organization meant to aid the pastors and churches understand the
full meaning of the message of Scripture. And this includes a
comprehension of Bible prophecy and its significance for believers
today.
While Scofield Ministries is small, we can give
personal care to pastors and students, both academically and
spiritually. However, there are more reasons.
We have one of the most complete and thorough
Doctrinal Statements above most ministries. We do not mince words. We
stand on Inspiration and Inerrancy of Scripture. Some ministries are
shifting and you may not know it! Strong Evangelical ministries are
moving to the left and moving into Ecumenism. In addition, Scofield
Ministries stand on the Deity of Christ, His substituionary atonement
for sins, and His soon return to take the church to glory before the
prophesied tribulation begins. There are no gray areas here.
Scofield Ministries works in conferences with
some of the outstanding Bible teachers of our generation, such as Dr.
Robert Lightner, Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum, Dr. Tom McCall, and talented
young authors like Steven Ger. We promote Jewish and Old Testament
studies because we believe in honoring the entire Word of God, both Old
and New Testaments. Others will be coming throughout the coming months
bringing conferences that make clear the Scriptures.
What about biblical "engineering" courses?
(Hebrew and Greek)? At Scofield Ministries we know for certain that we
emphasize the biblical languages more than most Evangelical Bible study
ministries. seminaries. Scofield Ministries will be known for making the
languages come alive and yet easy to understand for the average layman,
or enthusiastic pastor.
In addition, Scofield Ministries believes strong
theological and verse-by-verse exegetical teaching should be done from
the pulpit. With specific conferences, CDs, and DVDs, we will train
students to teach the substance of strong theology as espoused by Lewis
Sperry Chafer, Merrill Unger, Calvin, Spurgeon, Hodge and others.
Scofield Ministries is a tax-exempt ministry. All donations will go to
helping pastors “keep the faith.”
We are living in difficult days, and that is why
Scofield Ministries was founded. We are here to help students of God’s
Word to be able “to get it right.” As the apostle Paul said, "The time
will come when they will not endure sound doctrine... they will want
teachers in accordance to their own desires ... turning away their ears
from the truth, and turning aside to myths" (2 Tim. 4:3-4).
