The Death of America and The West

Few people in America fully get it! Most do not see the ominous events now taking place in the Middle East and Europe. We are within a few years of an international catastrophe or the beginning of World War III.

For example in Europe there are now fifty million Muslims. This number will double in 25 years. And by 2025, one third of all European children will be born to Muslim families. Europe is gone! And the European Reformation heritage has long ago been buried! The Middle East is on a slow fuse. Iran has made a vow to build nuclear weapons. There is no way of escaping what is happening there!

1938 was a good and a bad year. It was good because that is the year in which I was born! It was bad because it was really the year that unofficially World War II began. What goes around comes around! We are now in the same place we were in 1938!

In 1938 America was still coming out of the Great Depression, and because of the horrors of World War I, the nation had become pacifistic. (So was Europe except for a few in England like Winston Churchill.) Almost all were giving a blind eye to what was happening in Europe, and especially in Germany. The people of the U.S. were not only pacifists but they were enamored by Hollywood and entertainment. The movies were attended on an average by everyone at least once a week. The Hollywood stars were the gods and entertainment was the drug of choice.

Europe too was in denial! Hitler had gobbled up Austria, and was about to invade Czechoslovakia. The Japanese had invaded China, Spain was in a bloody civil war, Italy had raped Ethiopia, and Germany was beginning to kill the Jews. Everyone saw all of this of course but England and America went brain-dead!

Everyone knew the Jews were under terrible persecution in Germany. Crystal Night was the night 7,500 Jewish shops were smashed and hundreds of synagogues were set afire. Jews were openly rounded up and many of the old men were stripped of their clothes and made to walk on all fours in the grass. Old Jewish women were sent up ladders and made to chirp like birds in trees. Wealthy Jews were made to clean the urinals at train stations. "A cloud of misery" hung over the nation. The American and English public, though somewhat aware of all of this, was oblivious to what it all meant. They thought that if they did not look closely somehow it would all go away! People in both America and England were simply living for the return of the good life - they were dancing to "Three Little Fishes," "A-Tisket A-Tasket," "Flat Foot Floogie with a Floy Floy," and "Are You Having Any Fun?"

Putting all of the above together, we are at the same place today. The only difference is that Israel is back in the Promised Land, and a terrible, universal judgment is not far away. Too, we really are worse off than in 1938. Morality has sunk even deeper than in the "good old days." The death of the West has begun, transportation and communication is more accessible (which means people can know more but still act stupid!), and the Lord is getting more angry at the denial of His Son as the Savior of the world.

We are now living in a specific time of fulfillment of certain Bible prophecies. They are not simply future, they are being completed now! The church too, unfortunately is asleep, just as most of the world in 1938! May God and His Word sober us up as to the lateness of the hour in which we live.
